Curriculum & Classes
Secondary section is divided into two cycles: Form 1 to Form 2, and Form 3 to Form 4. The curriculum includes core subjects such as Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Science, and Social Studies. Students also select optional subjects based on their interests and career aspirations. These subjects could include additional sciences, humanities, languages, technical subjects, or vocational courses. The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination is typically taken at the end of Form 4 and plays a crucial role in determining a student's eligibility for higher education.
FORM ONE
- Introduction to 12 subjects like Mathematics, Science, Languages, (e.g. Kiswahili, English, Turkish), and Humanities subjects like Geography and History.
- Emphasis on building foundational skills in various subjects.
- Developing study habits and time management skills.
FORM TWO
- Continued study of core subjects with a slightly more advanced curriculum.
- Exploration of more specialized subjects based on student interests and school offerings.
- Focus on critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
FORM THREE
- In-depth study of core subjects, often preparing students for national or standardized exams that might be taken at the end of this form or Form 4.
- Introduction to elective subjects that could include business studies, technology, or other specialized fields.
FORM FOUR
- Preparation for national or standardized exams, which might determine a student’s eligibility for higher education.
- Continued study of core and elective subjects, with a focus on exam-related content.
- Career guidance and preparation for life beyond secondary school.
