Brief background of our school

Qubaa Muslim School, originating within the Qubaa Mosque premises in Majengo, began its journey on January 14, 1987. Initially named Qubaa Primary School, it opened its doors as a government-aided institution with classes for both boys and girls.

The founding team, comprising Mr. Awadh Mbarak, Mr. David Kombo, Mr. Abubakar Maamun, and Mr. Bashraheel Mohamed, laid the foundation for its early development.

The school underwent shifts in location, moving to an area near Jella Baridi along Lumumba Road while maintaining its status as a public school.

To improve academic performance and management, it transitioned to a private institution named Qubaa Academy on January 28, 1999.

Later, in 2009, the school was rebranded as Qubaa Muslim School.

new management

In late 2013, our school came under Turkish management, leading to remarkable improvements in academic performance, infrastructure, and the overall learning environment.

After being taken over by the new management, the school quickly rose to become the number one institution in Mvita Sub-County. Since then, it has been consistently run by Turkish leadership, achieving strong academic results, fostering a warm, student-centered atmosphere, and introducing a value-based education approach that promotes character development alongside academic excellence.

Throughout this transformation, principals like Mr. Lenox Mtengo and currently Mr. Leonard Mbalu have played pivotal roles. With concerted efforts from teachers, parents, and students, the school has made notable strides in academic performance.

It has been ranked fourth in the Coast Region and positioned 83rd in Kenya based on its performance in the KCSE exams over the past two years, signaling its progress and commitment to academic excellence.
